As countries worldwide seek to improve data protection and security standards, a common theme is imposing mandatory data breach notification requirements.

But these requirements vary significantly in their scope and strictness. What constitutes a reportable breach in one jurisdiction might not be reportable in another, and where one country might require breaches to be reported within a strictly defined period, another might require reports to be made within a ‘reasonable’ timeframe.

This session will explore the different approaches to creating a data breach reporting policy that helps minimise the risk of legal violations and protects people’s data.
