Since 2014, DataIQ has been tracking the rise of chief data officers, chief analytics officers, data scientists, data governance experts and the leaders of key vendors and service providers.
Inclusion in the DataIQ 100 is a notable badge of honour, and one which recognises the professional as one of the most influential and exceptional leaders in data and analytics.
The ceremony was due to take place at Illuminate in the Science Museum, London, on 25 March. However, due to the unprecedented circumstances we find ourselves in around COVID-19, the team at DataIQ worked tirelessly to ensure the show could still go on.
So, through a virtual celebration that included a live countdown of the top 10 and interviews with the past four Number Ones, it was revealed that Christine secured her place in the 2020 DataIQ 100 for her sixth year running.
Path to power
Christine started life in BT’s customer communications team, intending to stay for about two years, but ending up doing 11 years, working in advertising, marketing and sales, mostly for SMEs. She then moved to Cable & Wireless to develop the company’s attack on the SME market, working in sales and marketing before running contact centres globally for all enterprises, with board member responsibility for CRM.
Tired of travelling and leaving her family (twins then aged eight), Christine changed tack in 2003 and became a shareholder and director in a four-person data protection and data management business, which became DQM Group and then the DQM GRC we know and love today – which is now part of GRC International Group.
DQM GRC was one of the first companies to recognise data as a valuable business asset - one which needs protecting before it can become an essential resource for driving business potential. Our consistent approach to delivering pragmatic data privacy solutions has ensured we now operate globally, supporting many medium and large-scale organisations to ensure they avoid becoming data privacy disasters and start using their data with confidence.
